So did Adam know about masturbating before he took a bite out of the apple?

T he writers of the first book of the Bible make the serpent the embodiment of cunning. It is the animal that induced the first two humans to bite into the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, rather than choosing flat submission to religious precepts, those of Islam like those of Christianity or Judaism. The text specifies that the snake is naked; the mythology of neighboring peoples depicts him as a high-legged monster. The reptile of Genesis is also the one who establishes the conflict between woman and man. Nevertheless, Eve and Adam cannot divorce because there is no one else to rebuild their lives with.

Thus , the serpent introduces the notion of free will into our lives. It implies that masturbation is neither a sin nor a substitute for sexual intercourse. It is an incidental and normal occupation, a maintenance of our vital functions. This ground-bound animal also encourages us to connect with the deep force of the earth. And, since it changes its skin regularly, it shows us how to let go of the past to better prepare for the future. When he's on the move, he keeps his eyes open to his journey and his surroundings rather than his text messages.

And while we're at it...were Adam and Eve light shinned?

Often when people consider skin, they think in simplistic terms (red, yellow, black, white) and fail to recognize the wide range of skin tones found in humans. Across the African continent, among those who would be called “black,” some are darker and some are lighter. Similarly, among those across Europe that would be considered “white,” some are darker and some are lighter. These results, when taken together, would imply that Adam and Eve likely had higher levels of melanin production and thus darker skin. Since genes linked to lighter color appear to be mutations and polymorphisms with significant variability, it suggests that lighter skin colors came later among their descendants, perhaps even after Noah’s flood.
